The logic of this page is that the struggle for freedom in Britain and Iraq are linked. This is something that both the pro Iraqi resistance (aka anti war) movement and New Labor don't seem to get.

Irak January 2005 - Whose Election? The Iraqi people voted en-mass. They voted with enthusiasm. And they voted despite, almost because of, the danger from the resistance.
It was Kanan Makiya's book "Cruelty and Silence" that brought home to me exactly what the Baath regime in Iraq was about.
Hence I've tried to follow what's been happening to him.
In January 2005 he did an interview for the BBC World Service, by which time it seems he had accepted the position as head of the government backed Memory foundation despite the loss of independence involved.
